Verikai is the evolution of CEO Hari Sundram's previous start up Predilytics. Short for predictive analytics, that Google Ventures-backed business focused on building and applying consumer segmentation to direct marketing efforts for health insurance companies. Upon the completion of a successful exit to Welltok in early 2015, the realization that he had only scratched the surface on understanding how consumer behavior can inform the underwriting of risk bore into his brain. Eventually, it caused him to seek out a team who could take the data around life changes that every single individual liberates and apply it in real time to the perception of risk that they are now receptive to protect.
Brett CoffinCo-Founder & CTO
CTO Brett Coffin was using a proprietary machine-learning algorithm to run a successful FX/currency-trading operation when he was introduced to Hari. Challenged by Hari to build a solution for segmentation in protected markets, Brett wrote an entirely new algorithm and built out an API-based platform to deliver the product in real-time.
Chris ChenPresident & COO
Chris has spent 20 years in financial services managing sales, partnerships, product, and operations teams. Prior to Verikai, Chris was an executive at Yodlee, a financial services data company, which was sold in 2016. Before Yodlee, Chris ran partnerships at WePay, an online payments provider which was sold to Chase Paymentech. He received a BA from the University of Michigan and an MBA from Stanford University.
CMO Brian Borkowski is a leader in digital marketing and a serial entrepreneur. After building a successful digital marketing agency, Brian headed up digital marketing for Farmers Insurance for 5 years. Just before joining Verikai, Brian built a direct to consumer life insurance brand from the ground up reaching over 70 employees.
